The Suquamish Tribe broke ground on a new Clearwater Market development in Silverdale, Washington, expanding the tribe’s retail footprint across Kitsap County and adding an estimated 30 jobs.
The project will include an 8,330-square-foot facility featuring a convenience store, a nine-pump gas station and an Agate Dreams cannabis retail store. Tribal leaders said the market, located at the intersection of Clear Creek Road and Northwest Pete Ross Way, is expected to open by the end of 2026.
The new Clearwater Market location is expected to create about 30 jobs in Silverdale, bringing total employment across the tribe’s three Clearwater Market sites to nearly 70, according to Rion Ramirez, CEO of Port Madison Enterprises, the Suquamish Tribe’s economic development arm.
The Silverdale location will be the third Clearwater Market development for the tribe and its third business venture outside the Port Madison Reservation, but within Suquamish ancestral homelands that include all of Kitsap County and extend into Seattle.
The expansion follows two Clearwater Market openings in 2024. A smaller smoke shop under the brand opened in Bremerton in September. In November, the tribe opened a larger Clearwater Market in Poulsbo featuring a convenience store, gas pumps and a cannabis retail shop using the same concept planned for the Silverdale site.
The Silverdale store will include an Agate Dreams cannabis retail outlet, part of the tribe’s broader cannabis business portfolio that includes retail operations and Tokem Cannabis, a Suquamish-owned processing company. The tribe, the first in the nation to negotiate a tribal–state marijuana compact, does not have immediate plans to expand the Agate Dreams brand beyond the new Silverdale location, but will continue evaluating opportunities as the cannabis market evolves, Ramirez said.
Port Madison Enterprises also manages several other tribal businesses, including the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort, Kiana Lodge and White Horse Golf Club.
