We ask that guest opinion pieces be submitted for exclusive or first publication in Tribal Business News, Native News Online, or both. Our national audience includes tribal leaders, Native citizens, policymakers, state and federal officials, business leaders, advocates, allies and others who care about issues affecting Indian Country.

We publish guest opinion pieces that advance a clear, fact-based argument on a timely issue affecting Native Americans, tribal governments, Native businesses or Indigenous communities. We look for opinions that help readers understand or debate a current issue affecting Indian Country—not articles that offer timeless advice or general best practices. We're looking for 500 to 1,000 words that are relevant, well-supported and free of jargon. Tell us who you are, why you care about the issue and why it matters now. We value compelling writing and original insight more than titles or credentials.

We generally do not publish opinion pieces whose primary purpose is to promote an author's business, organization, services or professional expertise. Likewise, articles that primarily offer general advice, "how-to" guidance or professional advice without taking a clear position on a timely issue affecting Indian Country are unlikely to be accepted. We do not publish guest opinions with promotional, legal or compliance disclaimers.

To submit your guest opinion, email [email protected] with your article pasted into the body of the email rather than attached as a file. Use a subject line indicating that you're submitting an op-ed, and include a brief summary of your argument and why it matters. Please also include a short author bio and a phone number where we can reach you. Accepted submissions are edited for clarity, style, accuracy and length in consultation with the author.

We review submissions as quickly as possible and generally respond within one to three business days. Because of the volume of submissions we receive, please wait at least three business days before contacting us to confirm receipt or ask about the status of your submission.

If your guest article is accepted, we'll work with you on fact-checking and editing before deciding whether it will be published in Tribal Business News, Native News Online or both.

Thank you for your interest.
