Akiak Technology's joint venture has secured a five-year contract with the U.S. General Services Administration that will allow the tribally-owned company to provide professional services to federal agencies nationwide.

The GSA awarded the Multiple Award Schedule contract on June 23 to Akcent LLC, a joint venture between Akiak Technology and Centurion Consulting Group, June 23. The contract has a ceiling value of $500,000 and runs through June 22, 2030.

AKCENT holds SBA 8(a) certification as a Tribal Owned HUBZone Joint Venture, which allows federal agencies to place directed awards without full competition. The certification streamlines procurement and provides ordering flexibility under the GSA Schedule program.

Akiak Technology CEO Kevin Hamer said the contract will create jobs while providing value for government buyers, according to a company statement.

The contract supports the Yup'ik legacy and economy of the Akiak Native Community. Akiak Enterprise Services operates as a Native Alaskan tribally owned company specializing in federal contracting, technology solutions, and grant management.

Native corporations have increasingly competed for federal contracts using set-aside programs. The 8(a) Business Development Program provides contracting opportunities specifically for small disadvantaged businesses.

Akiak Enterprise Services is based in Alexandria, Virginia.
